How to Make a Claim

The assistance company’s 24 hour Emergency Service is available so that any Insured Person may request help in the event of an emergency relating to medical problems. Banner Financial Services work with a number of insurers using different assistance companies. Your insurance policy wording, schedule and / or certificate shows the telephone numbers to contact.

You must notify the Assistance Company immediately of any illness or injury involving an Insured Person whilst abroad which may necessitate admittance to a hospital or before any arrangements are made for repatriation / evacuation.

Access to Destination

Increasingly various countries are introducing bans on foreign nationals entering their country. Most insurance policies exclude action taken by a foreign government. Whilst this exclusion was intended to avoid cancellation claims where an individual is refused entry, it would apply to the blanket bans now being introduced. Insurers may not choose to apply the exclusion.

Covid 19 Update 12/3/2020

If you are an in force policyholder, cancellation cover is linked to travelling and Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) advice. If you book a trip against FCO advice then cancellation cover is excluded.

If you booked before FCO advice changed then subject to general terms and conditions cancellation cover would apply.
